The bodies found burnt in a farm in the Kamulu area in Kayole, Nairobi have been identified as those of Kamulu socialite Rachael Kanini “Kaniss” and her Nigerian lover Omodollar.
But the motive of their macabre murder is yet to be established, police said.
They were kidnapped on Sunday, June 25 and later killed elsewhere before the bodies were taken to the area where they were found burnt.
Police say they are investigating to establish who was behind the murder and the motive.
A neighbor at the scene said she stumbled on the bodies on June 27 and called police.
Given that the kidnappers remain at large, it is believed that they employed a sophisticated and well-coordinated operation that ensured they left no traces behind.
The discovery sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an outpouring of grief and condolences from friends, family, and fans online.
Locals said the two have been dating for ten years.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are investigating the murder.
Police believe the two were killed elsewhere and brought to Josna Farm where they were discovered on Wednesday, June 27 evening with burns.
Police who visited the scene established that the bodies appeared to have been murdered elsewhere and brought to the scene, where they were burnt.
Both bodies were naked at the time of discovery and their legs and hands were tied with shoelaces, police and witnesses said.
According to police, the body of the Nigerian had visible injuries on the head, stomach, and thigh, while the female body had no visible injuries but the lower part of the waist was missing.

The scene was processed and the bodies were moved to the mortuary waiting for identification and autopsy.
