Romantic Kiss Bridge Unveiled In Vietnam’s Island Paradise

The bridge, a collaborative effort between Italian architect Marco Casamonti and luxury tourism developer Sun Group, stretches over 800 meters on the island renowned for its picturesque beaches.

Inspired by Michelangelo’s iconic fresco, “The Creation of Adam,” the design features two separate halves, mimicking the pointing fingers in the painting.

Unlike typical bridges, the north and south sections of the Kiss Bridge do not quite touch, leaving a deliberate gap of only 30 centimeters (12 inches).

This design encourages couples to stand on opposite sides, creating a theatrical lean for a romantic kiss.

The precision of the gap is highlighted by an intriguing annual event – on January 1st, the sun aligns perfectly within the separation between the two halves, as per the Sun Group’s calculations.

Named “Cau Hon” in Vietnamese, translating to “proposing marriage,” the bridge adds an extra layer of symbolism for visitors considering a romantic proposal.

Situated in Phu Quoc Island’s Sunset Town, a 40-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City, the destination is part of Vietnam’s southern province of Kien Giang.

Phu Quoc, often hailed as Vietnam’s premier island retreat, is particularly popular among honeymooners.

Sun Group, known for its innovative projects, has previously developed the “Golden Bridge” near Da Nang.

This unique structure features two giant hands lifting a shimmering structure and is positioned over 1,400 meters above sea level, spanning 150 meters in length.

With significant investments in tourism infrastructure, Phu Quoc already boasts upscale hotel brands like Regent, InterContinental, and JW Marriott.

Now, the addition of Kiss Bridge further enhances the island’s appeal, providing yet another captivating experience for visitors.
