Russian oil storage tanks in Azov, located in the southern Rostov region, were set ablaze overnight following a drone attack, as confirmed by Russian officials.
Ukrainian forces reportedly intercepted and destroyed 10 drones launched by Russia during the same period.
The town of Azov, near the Don River and approximately 16 kilometers from the Sea of Azov, became the focal point of the attack.
While Ukraine did not claim responsibility for the strike, it has previously executed similar operations, citing their impact on Moscow’s war efforts, particularly targeting Russia’s energy infrastructure.
Governor Vasily Golubev of Rostov provided initial reports via Telegram, stating “there were no casualties resulting from the incident.
The scale of the fire necessitated the deployment of 200 firefighters, dispatched by Russia’s emergency services ministry, to contain the blaze, which had spread over an area exceeding 3,200 square meters”.
Simultaneously, Ukraine’s air force successfully engaged and neutralized the 10 drones launched by Russia over Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine.
Military operations continued as Ukrainian troops engaged Russian forces on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar in the eastern Donetsk region.
