Monday, Ruto said he asked the Parliamentary leadership of both Houses to consider our proposal for a bipartisan approach to addressing the matters raised by the Opposition as a priority.
“We are convinced the issues shall be conclusively handled by Parliament in order to allow us focus on our economic transformation program,” he said.
Ruto hosted leaders of Parliament led by National Assembly Leader of Majority Kimani Ichung’wa and his Senate counterpart Aron Cheruiyot to establish a framework for the bipartisan strategy.

It came just hours after Ruto’s address in which he called on the opposition leader to do so and give way for a bipartisan parliamentary process in the recruitment of commissioners to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which is one of the issues the opposition had raised with President Ruto’s administration.
