The SDA church in the Gusii region finds itself embroiled in further controversy as two prominent pastors, Martha Isaac and Nixon Matara, respond to their suspension with claims of false accusation and victimization by the church.
The pastors were suspended over alleged misconduct, particularly regarding their actions during funeral services.
In response to their suspension, Pastor Martha Isaac and Pastor Nixon Matara have refuted the allegations leveled against them, asserting that they are being unfairly targeted by the church.
The suspension notice, issued by the church, cited concerns about the pastors’ conduct at funerals and their failure to adhere to established protocols.
The notice from the church stated, “Dear leaders and pastors, this is to inform you that Pr. Matara and Martha Isaak of Matagaro will not be allowed to conduct any services at funerals, public evangelism, and camp meetings until the Field Executive committee sitting in mid-June clears them.
This is because of many issues reported about their conduct in funerals. Please give this information to members and elders.
They go out including outside SEKF without permission even without host pastors knowing. Please cooperate on this.”
The pastors’ suspension has sparked debate within the SDA community, with supporters rallying behind them and questioning the validity of the accusations.
Allegations of misconduct during funeral services, a sacred aspect of SDA practice, have raised concerns among congregants and church leaders alike.
As Pastor Isaac and Pastor Matara await clearance from the Field Executive committee, tensions within the SDA church in the Gusii region remain high.
The outcome of this dispute will not only impact the pastors’ future within the church but also influence perceptions of accountability and transparency within the religious institution.
This latest development underscores the challenges faced by religious organizations in addressing internal conflicts while upholding principles of justice and fairness.
It also highlights the importance of clear communication and due process in resolving disputes within religious communities.
