A Senate Special Committee that was probing the impeachment of Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol recommended his removal from office over allegations of gross violation of the Constitution and abuse of office.

In a 92-page report presented before the Senate plenary on Monday, the 11-member committee said some of the allegations leveled against Oduol were substantiated while others were not.
The committee found that the charge against the Oduol on Gross Violation of the Constitution and other Laws and on the allegation of Interference with the Procurement Process through Acts of Bid- Rigging was substantiated.
The deputy governor was also found culpable on the charge of Abuse of Office and Gross Misconduct on the allegation of Misleading the Public by Giving False Information.
On the allegation of bulldozing officers to renovate the office of the Deputy County Governor outside approved budgetary provisions the committee found that this was not proved and was therefore not substantiated
Also not substantiated were the allegations of misuse of public resources and bullying.
They started debating the report before taking a vote later on Monday.
