Sixteen students and university workers have been set free after a frightening kidnapping incident at a university in northwest Zamfara state.
This incident had everyone worried, but let’s break it down in simpler terms.
Last week, some bad people attacked a university.
They took sixteen students and workers with them, but now these people are free.
The university people told us about this on Monday.
The president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has some big problems to solve.
There are kidnappings, bad groups, and fights happening in different parts of the country.
He hasn’t told us yet how he plans to fix these issues.
The Federal University Gusau talked about the attack.
They said it made the students very scared.
But they also said that everyone should stay calm and do their normal stuff while the police and soldiers try to save the other people who are still captured.
“It is against this background that we appeal to students and staff to remain calm and go about their normal activities while the security agencies are doing their best to rescue the remaining students and other individuals that are still in captivity,” the university said
So far, they’ve saved fourteen students and two workers.
The army, air force, police, and security agents are all working together to save the rest.
The president told them to go and find the bad guys who did this.
Kidnapping used to be something bad people did to scare others.
But now, it’s a way for them to make money.
They take people and ask for money before they let them go.
Just the other day, some bad people killed eight and took at least 60 others in Zamfara, not too far from the university.
In another part of Nigeria, some people who might be bad militants attacked a group of cars with soldiers.
They killed two soldiers and four regular people.
The good news is that some people are free now, but the bad news is that there are still problems in Nigeria.
