Five men will go on trial in May for the murder of Cape Town lawyer David Mbazwana.
They made a pre-trial appearance in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.
According to News24, some of the accused were unhappy that they had waited so long for the trial, with one complaining that he needed to apply for bail.
Sinethemba Makeleni, Anga Anganda Mabenjane, Lonwabo Cosa, Siyanda Ndzendze, and Brian Balangile will go on trial for the murder of Mbazwana at the Eiland informal settlement in Khayelitsha in September 2019.
During the arrests, the police said they also seized a firearm with its serial number removed.

He was shot in front of a spaza shop in Khayelitsha in an apparent robbery.
At the time, his client list ranged from a security company to people accused of murder.
The court heard on Friday that the State was still checking whether the accused had pending criminal cases against them.
The court also noted that one of their lawyers had apologized, saying he would not be present, and another had let the court know he was going to the dentist and would miss the pre-trial appearance.
Mbazwana had also worked as a prosecutor in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court from 2006 to 2008 and was a specialist litigator at the company Liddell Weeber and Van der Merwe Incorporated.
Their trial is set to start on 2 May and run into June.
In the meantime, the trial of the three men accused of murdering Mihalik will resume later in March, and the massive case involving the attempted murder of lawyer William Booth is still trundling through pre-trial appearances.
