Police in Suna West Sub-County, Migori County, are investigating a murder incident in which an 18-year-old man was found dead beside a roadside in Masara area.
According to police, the incident was reported on Monday at around 7:50 a.m. by a resident who had been escorting his children to school when he came across a body lying along the Masara–Chamabare road, face down.
Police responded to the scene and confirmed the discovery.
The deceased was identified as Dalton Ochieng Oloo, a male adult aged 18 years. His body was found lying in a pool of blood beside the road, with a deep cut on the back of his neck.
Police also recovered his mobile phone from his pocket at the scene. The motive behind the killing has not yet been established.
The scene was processed and documented by crime scene investigators before the body was moved to Migori County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits post-mortem examination.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing as police seek to establish those responsible and the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Elsewhere, police in Kisii Central Sub-county are investigating a suspected murder after the body of a 33-year-old man was discovered along a footpath in Chindwani Village, Keumbu Location.
According to a report filed at Keumbu Police Station, the incident was reported on Monday at around 11:10 a.m. after a resident informed authorities that his brother had been found dead.
The deceased was identified as Daniel Mbira Moseti, a male adult from Amasago Village in Bomwagi Sub-location, Keumbu Location.
Police established that the victim had last been seen on the evening of May 3, 2026, at around 6:50 p.m. at his home, where he had been cutting firewood for his mother before leaving for an unknown destination.
His body was found lying along the footpath with visible injuries, including deep cuts on the head, neck, and the left side of the back. Foam was also observed oozing from his nose and mouth.
Crime scene investigators documented and processed the area before the body was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the incident to establish the motive and identify those responsible.
