A whopping 58,330 passports are still waiting to be picked up from various Immigration offices all over the country.
The top spot for uncollected passports is in Nairobi, where a staggering 24,613 applicants haven’t retrieved their travel documents yet.
In Embu’s Immigration offices, there are 9,584 passports yet to be collected, followed by Kisumu with 6,087, Mombasa with 5,759, Eldoret with 4,538, Nakuru with 4,466, and Kisii with 3,283.

The Principal Secretary of Immigration, Julius Bitok, emphasized that the government is ramping up passport printing to tackle the backlog caused by a surge in demand.
“Applications are being processed based on when they were received, and we’re prioritizing those with specific booklet preferences based on paid page numbers,” said Prof. Bitok.
He further urged applicants who have been notified about their ready passports to collect them promptly to make space in the storage areas.
