Police are investigating separate incidents of suicide that were reported at the weekend alone.
The first incident happened in the Kamulu area, Nairobi where the body of a 60-year-old woman was found dangling on the roof rafters.
The woman was left in the house alone by her relatives who left for errands but when they came back they found her dead.
The body was hanging on a sisal rope on the roof rafters, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending further probe.
In Kikuyu, a nine-year-old girl was found dead after suicide.
The girl at a local primary school was found dead with her neck tied with a rope.
The police said they found a suicide notice in the house.
The girl’s parents had left the home for a burial event in the area and on coming back they found the door to the house closed.
They were forced to break in and found the body hanging on the rafters.
In Londiani, Kericho, the body of a woman was found in a house with a manila paper tied to the neck.
The woman had hanged herself at the time when locals discovered the body.
The bodies were moved to the mortuaries pending autopsy and probe.
Police say they have been receiving increased cases of suicide.
Most of the cases are linked to mental issues, police say.
Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a man died while at a construction site in Parklands, Nairobi.
Samson Muhanji succumbed to injuries after a slab he and other workers were casting caved in on him on the 18th floor of the SMB Suites Limited along Githuri Road.
Three other workers were injured in the incident.
Police and other officials from the county government and National Construction Authority are investigating the incident.
This is the latest such incident to happen in a series in the city amid a construction boom that seems unchecked
Police say at least one such death is reported weekly in the city.
