Tragedy struck on Monday afternoon as four people lost their lives in a head-on collision at the Katakala area on the Narok-Mulot road.
The accident involved a trailer and a Toyota Landcruiser owned by Dalloky Magnifiques Tours Safaris.
According to a police report filed at the Narok police station, the collision occurred when the Landcruiser, driven by an unidentified driver, attempted an improper overtaking maneuver.
The vehicle crashed into an oncoming trailer, leading to the fatal accident.
The report details that all four occupants of the Landcruiser three foreigners and the driver died at the scene.
The driver of the trailer sustained minor injuries to both legs.
The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to veer off the road, landing on their left sides as one faces the direction of Narok.
“The Toyota Landcruiser was extensively damaged,” the police report states.
Emergency services arrived promptly, but the severe damage to the Landcruiser and the force of the collision left no chance for survival for its occupants.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Narok County Hospital mortuary, where autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact causes of death.
The driver of the trailer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
