Police are looking for a gang that raided a stone-crushing site and stole equipment valued at more than Sh4 million.
The gang of about ten went to Kwa Gicheru Stone Crusher and tied three guards on duty with ropes before embarking on their mission.
Police said the gang was armed with crude weapons and roughed up the guards on duty.
They then grabbed a conveyor belt measuring about 120 meters and valued at Sh4 million before escaping on a waiting car.
Police said the gang also stole caps, a jacket, and a mobile phone belonging to one of the guards.
A team that visited the scene said they suspect the gang had patrolled the area and earmarked the stolen property for use elsewhere.
A hunt on the gang is ongoing with the aim of recovering the belts.
Such equipment is rare and is needed for crushing construction stones. Police believe it is the reason they are targeted.
