TikTok recently revealed the launch of its new ‘Add to Music App’ feature, extending its reach to users in 163 additional countries, notably including Kenya and Nigeria.
This innovative feature empowers music enthusiasts to effortlessly store the songs they stumble upon while browsing TikTok on their preferred music streaming platforms.
Crafted to enhance the music discovery journey, ‘Add to Music App’ enables users to capture beloved tunes in the moment of revelation and seamlessly transfer them to their favored music streaming service for later enjoyment.
Displayed as a conspicuous button labeled ‘Add Song’ adjacent to the track’s title at the bottom of TikTok videos in the ‘For You’ feed, the feature beckons users to preserve the song on their chosen music streaming platform.
Upon initiating the ‘Add Song’ function for the first time, users are prompted to designate their preferred music streaming service.
Subsequently, the selected track is automatically saved to a default playlist within the chosen platform.
However, users retain the flexibility to allocate the track to a pre-existing playlist or create a new one according to their preference.
Following the initial use of the ‘Add to Music App’ feature, the designated music streaming service becomes the default option for subsequent track saves.
Nonetheless, users maintain the liberty to modify this selection at any time through the settings.
Furthermore, users can access the ‘Add to Music App’ feature from an artist’s ‘Sound Detail’ page, broadening the avenues for music exploration and enjoyment.
Isaac Bess, TikTok’s Global Head of Distribution Partnerships, expressed enthusiasm about the feature’s potential to streamline music discovery for both users and artists.
He remarked, “With Add to Music App, we are streamlining the music discovery experience for both TikTok users and artists.”
Bess highlighted the positive impact of this feature on music discovery, fostering opportunities for emerging tracks to gain recognition and ascend the charts.
He concluded by stating, “We are really excited to be bringing the feature to millions more music fans around the world, providing even more opportunities for music discovery and consumption, and for artists to reach new audiences and grow their careers.”
