Detectives are investigating an incident where a man killed his wife in a domestic fight in Masinga area, Machakos County.
The man used a mattock to kill the woman.
The mattock was found stuck in her head.
Police said Annastacia Wanza, 31 was found lying dead in bed in a pool of blood long after her murder.
A mattock that had been used in the mission was found stuck in the head after the September 3 incident.
The assailant escaped the scene after the murder, police said.
Other family members said the couple had been having quarrels.
The hunt on the assailant is ongoing, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
And a livestock dealer was clobbered to death in his house in a robbery incident in Kavalya village, Kangundo, Machakos County.
The deceased was identified as Nickson Muema, 34 who was a known livestock dealer.
He was confronted at his house on Wednesday dawn by a gang of about ten who demanded cash from him.
The gang had broken into his house through the bedroom window even as he screamed for help.
According to the police, the gang then hit the man in the head using a blunt object after they had robbed him of an unknown amount of money before escaping.
