In the Seretunin village of Baringo Central sub-county, a domestic dispute between two brothers has led to a tragic outcome, leaving the community in mourning.
The altercation resulted in the elder brother allegedly killing his younger sibling on the spot.
Assistant Chief Lang’at Kosgey of Seretunin Sub-location reported the incident to the police.
He received an urgent call from a colleague at 1 a.m. about a fight between the brothers on their property.
Rushing to the scene to intervene, the chief instead found a horrific sight: one adult male from the Tugen community lying dead in a pool of blood.
Baringo Central OCPD Enrico Telewa Lyomu confirmed the incident, stating that police officers from Seretunin responded swiftly to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered the deceased, 23-year-old Kevin Kimuge Chesire, with a deep cut wound at the back of his head, from which blood was still oozing.
Following a thorough search of the area, police arrested the main suspect, 28-year-old Samuel Chesire Amdany.
They also recovered the alleged murder weapon, a bloodstained club (rungu), which has been retained as evidence.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the Baringo County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Samuel Chesire Amdany remains in custody at the Kabarnet police station and is scheduled to appear in the Kabarnet Law Courts on Monday.
