Twiva, a Kenyan social commerce platform powered by AI, has been selected to participate in Safaricom’s Spark Accelerator Program.
The start-up, which leverages influencers to promote and sell products and services, will benefit from training, mentorship, market access, capital, technology, and product development opportunities provided by iHub.
Founded in 2020, Twiva assists MSMEs in improving market reach by utilizing social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok for marketing and sales through influencers.
The Spark Accelerator has also selected eight other early-stage start-ups from over 200 applicants in Kenya, focusing on areas such as embedded finance, future fintech, SME productivity tools, and content creation.
These ventures will undergo three months of capacity building, though the program’s funding size remains undisclosed.
The accelerator will primarily invest in the start-ups through debt and equity financing.
“We are delighted to welcome these startups into the program.
Their unique solutions leverage technology to enhance the quality of life for millions of Kenyans.
We are eager to support them in refining their offerings and scaling their impact,” said Nissi Madu, Managing Partner at iHub.
The Spark Accelerator, launched in collaboration with M-PESA Africa and Sumitomo Corporation, aims to accelerate product innovation and business growth for promising start-ups.
