Two Businessmen Missing After Suspected Abduction In Pumwani And West Pokot

Two businessmen are missing after separate abduction incidents reported in Nairobi’s Pumwani area and Marich in West Pokot County.

It’s not clear if they are related, police said.

In the first incident, a hotel owner was allegedly abducted by six armed men outside his premises in Pumwani, Nairobi, in the early hours of Thursday morning, witnesses and police said.
 
According to witnesses, the incident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. outside Paradise Hotel, located opposite Pumwani Hospital.
 
A manager at the hotel told police that the owner, Abdi Hakim, had just driven into the hotel compound in his Toyota TX Prado when he was suddenly accosted by six men.

The assailants reportedly bundled him into their vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination.
 
Moments after the incident, Hakim’s mobile phone was switched off, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
 
The manager said he delayed reporting the matter to the police, hoping that his employer would return safely.

However, when he failed to reappear, the matter was formally reported.
 
Police responded to the scene and have since launched investigations.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Shauri Moyo are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding buildings as part of efforts to trace the vehicle used in the suspected abduction.
 
Police have not yet established the motive behind the incident, and no arrests have been made so far.
 
Investigations are ongoing.

In West Pokot County’s Marich area. a businessman was abducted by unknown people.

Police said the family of Mohamed Bareh Hussein reported he had been abducted by unknown people in the Marich town area.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known. He is a Kenyan.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
