Police are investigating two separate incidents where two police officers were attacked and killed.
The first incident happened in West Pokot while the second one took place in Tharaka Nithi.
A police officer was killed in an attack on a village in West Pokot County.
The body of constable James Rotino, 41 who was attached to West Pokot county Speaker, was found with deep stabs on Makutano- Chemoyet road within Chemoyet sub-location, police said.
Rotino was with his brother on Sunday evening and were riding on a motorcycle when they were attacked by a known suspect, police said.
The attacker who was also riding on a motorcycle stabbed the police officer in the neck and stomach while his brother who was riding had wounds in the abdomen.
He was admitted to the ICU where he is fighting for his life.
Police who attended the scene said they had not established the motive of the attack but they are looking for a known suspect.
In Tharaka Nithi, a soldier was arrested while police are pursuing another one over the death of the police officer.
The soldiers and another assailant are suspected of killing Constable Dickson Gitonga Machura at Kirubia in Tharaka Nithi.
The officer was attached to the Central police station in Nairobi.
David Gitare, a brother to the deceased, reported at Chuka Police Station that his brother had been attacked by three people while at a bar in Kirubia.
The deceased, based at Central Police Station in Nairobi, was attending a welfare meeting for police from Tharaka Nithi back at home when he was attacked.
The officer was rushed to Chuka Referral Hospital but died while being treated.
The three suspects attacked the officer at about 11 pm on Saturday, May 20.
The bodies are lying in mortuaries pending an autopsy.
