

Two suspected thugs were at the weekend shot dead in separate failed robberies in Nairobi.
The first incident happened in Shauri Moyo at Jua Kali area along Lamu Road where a woman was attacked by a man who demanded cash from her.
A struggle ensued before the assailant produced a homemade pistol forcing her to surrender the bag.
Police officers on patrol heard the reportee screaming and fatally injured the man.
Police said they recovered a homemade pistol capable of firing, two live ammunition, and all the robbed items.
In the same area, told police she was walking along the said road when she was stopped by a lone gunman.
The man demanded her handbag which had Sh2,000 and a mobile phone and when she refused, he drew a homemade pistol and threatened to kill her.
Police said they were alerted by the woman’s screams and responded there killing the suspect.
A homemade gun capable of firing loaded with two rounds of 9mm live ammunition was recovered and kept as an exhibit.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary.
Police say they have enhanced patrols in the city and estates to ensure safety for all.
