

Detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found on a sofa set in her house in Shauri Moyo area, Nairobi.
Police said Nancy Syombua, 45 was found lying unresponsive on her couch long after she had died.
Police have established that the deceased had arrived in Nairobi on July 24 from their rural home Embu and locked herself inside her house.
Neighbors had to break into her house and found her lying dead on the sofa set with visible minor injuries on the left thigh, police said.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are investigating three cases of suicide that were reported on Tuesday, July 25.
The first incident happened in Kangeta village within Naaro sub-location, Muranga where the body of Geroge Ndungu Gachanja aged 25 who was a miraa seller, was discovered dangling dead under an avocado tree branch with a rope around his neck.
This was found on his neighbor’s land.
In Mugondu village within Kiri sub-location, Muranga, the body of Joseph Kibe Macharia, 21 who was a form three student at Kirunguru secondary school was found dangling dead from the roof truss of his house with a rope tied around the neck.
Police said no suicide note was recovered and the body, which had no visible injuries, was taken to General Kago mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
In Athi River area, the body of Caroline Wawira Nagi, 41 was found lying on the road near Grace Land Estate.
Police said they recovered two sachets of poison and a bottle of insecticide from the woman.
The motives of the incidents are yet to be known.
Police say they are investigating them.
Cases of suicide have been on the rise in recent months amid calls to address the trend.
