In Huruma, Nairobi County, police discovered the body of a woman, Eliza Kamba, inside her home on Monday, September 23, following concerns raised by her coworkers and family after she failed to appear at work for two days.
The door to her house had been locked from the inside, and after neighbors helped break in, they found her body lying in a pool of blood.
Police reported that Kamba had five stab wounds, with a kitchen knife found at the scene as the suspected weapon.
Investigations are ongoing as her boyfriend, believed to be involved in the incident, is currently missing.
In a separate case, police in Meru County found the body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 25 years old, lying on a road in the Kachoka area.
The body had injuries but no evidence of a struggle at the scene, leading police to believe the body was dumped there after being murdered elsewhere.
The victim’s body was taken to the Chuka Referral Hospital Mortuary for identification and further examination.
A third case unfolded in Migori County where the body of a 43-year-old bodaboda rider, George Okoth Odhiambo, was discovered with multiple deep cuts along a road in Oruba Sublocation.
His motorcycle was found abandoned two kilometers from the scene.
Police recovered a bloodstained panga and wooden stick, which they believe were used in the killing.
The body was moved to a nearby nursing home for an autopsy as investigations continue.
Murder cases in the country have been increasing, with police reporting up to two daily incidents, many of which are still under investigation or pending in court.
