Elsewhere, police in Kibra, Nairobi, arrested a 47-year-old security guard after his nine-year-old daughter died at Mbagathi Hospital following an alleged assault.

Preliminary examination revealed multiple bruises and swellings all over her body, which police said were consistent with an assault involving a blunt object. The girl also had a freshly missing upper incisor tooth.

Further examination indicated that the child had allegedly been sexually assaulted.
