Multiple officials have confirmed fatalities resulting from the incident, which involved a vehicle crossing into the U.S. from Canada, according to the Niagara Falls mayor’s office.
Surveillance footage reveals that the vehicle initially stopped at a security checkpoint before being directed to a secondary screening location.
Shockingly, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the secondary checkpoint.
The cause of the initial security stop remains unclear, as does the trigger for the subsequent explosion. Investigators discovered a suitcase or briefcase at the scene, prompting them to treat it as a potential explosive device
