A 22-year-old gold miner named Vincent Odhiambo lost his life on Sunday night in Pap Ka’Mboha village, Alego/Usonga sub-county, Siaya County.
The young miner met his demise through electrocution at a gold mining site where he was employed as a machine operator.
The shocking event was confirmed by Siaya County police commander Cleti Kimaiyo, who stated that Bar-Ding sub-location Assistant Chief Musa Okello reported the incident.
According to Okello, the tragedy occurred within the mining site.

Following the incident, members of the public recovered Odhiambo’s lifeless body.
Subsequently, the police transported it to the Siaya County referral hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
The community is left mourning the untimely death of a promising 22-year-old gold miner.
