Woman Arrested Over Murder Of Her Boyfriend In Ongata Rongai

Police are holding a woman who went to report to police her boyfriend had been murdered by men who were trailing them in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.

Julius Ndichu Ngugi, 50 was hacked to death at the weekend as he stepped out of his car for a short call.

His wife told police they were driving to their home from a pub at about 1 am on June 4 when Ngugi stopped the car for a short call.

It was then, according to the woman, that he was attacked by two unknown men who were trailing them aboard a motorcycle.

Ngugi fell down unconscious as the woman called for help and rushed the victim to Nairobi Women before they were referred to Kenyatta National Hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Police later detained the woman while in possession of the deceased’s mobile phone.

Police say she had withdrawn an unknown amount of money from the phone by the time she was detained.

Detectives say they are investigating the motive of the incident and the woman is assisting them in the same.

A postmortem is planned on the body on June 7 to establish how he died.
