A 41-year-old man died after being attacked by an arrow in a stock theft in a village in Subukia, Nakuru.
Dedan Muthui had stepped out of his house on Monday morning to check on the commotion he had heard from a shed keeping his two goats.
Witnesses said the moment he opened the door and stepped out he was attacked with a poisonous arrow in the left armpit.
The attackers grabbed two goats that were in a shed and escaped, police said.
Neighbors responded and rushed him to Mbogoini Health Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police said one goat was recovered from a thicket as the attackers escaped with one.
No arrest has been made and investigations and the hunt for the killers are ongoing, police said.
Meanwhile, two teenage boys aged 15 were shot and killed in a village in an attack in Marich, West Pokot.
The incident happened in Nasalot Sub Location, where about 20 bandits armed with AK47 rifles crossed the common border and fatally injured two juveniles namely Shadrack Korwapus and Isaac Longarikwang.
The two were grazing their cattle which were stolen.
Police were called and managed to recover 100 cows as an unknown number were driven away.
The area is among those that are under operation against rustlers.
Police say a hunt on the gunmen is ongoing and that the bodies of the two were taken to Kapenguria County morgue pending autopsy.
Multi-agency teams are in the area for an operation targeting cattle rustlers.
The targeted areas include Baringo, West Pokot, Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, and Isiolo where the menace has taken a toll.
The teams are also identifying things that can be done immediately to address the menace. They include the construction of dams.
