A traffic police officer died after a lorry rammed into a car he was inspecting along Outering Road, Nairobi on Thursday morning.
Witnesses and police said the incident happened in the Harmony area minutes after the officer stopped the said car and was inspecting its stickers.
Buru sub-county police commander Francis Kamau said the officer died while being rushed to the hospital.
He said the driver of the lorry which caused the accident was arrested and is helping police in further probe.
“We lost a dedicated officer in the accident.
The incident is under probe,” he said.
The body of the officer was taken to the morgue and the two vehicles were towed to Buru Buru police station pending inspection.
Fatal accidents have been on the rise despite campaigns to address the mess.
