The Kenya Human Rights Commission, a group that’s not part of the government, has asked King Charles III to say sorry for the bad things that happened when Britain ruled Kenya.
The king is visiting Kenya for four days, starting on Tuesday.
He has said he wants to learn about the bad things that people went through during the colonial times.
During the 1950s, when Kenya was under British rule, more than 10,000 people lost their lives.
The British government did this to stop a group that wanted Kenya to be free. About 1,000 people were killed without proper trials.
The human rights group wants the king to say sorry publicly and very clearly.
Ten years ago, the British government accepted that the colonial rulers had tortured people.
They felt really bad about it and agreed to give money to thousands of people who had fought for freedom.
Some Kenyan groups, like the Nandi, Kipsigis, and Pokot, are also asking for apologies and money from the UK government.
They say that the British took their traditional things and lands during the colonial times, and they want them back.
These things are still with British people or companies.
