Two Arrested With 575 Litres Of Suspected Ethanol In Nakuru


In Nakuru County, two individuals have been arrested by the police for having 575 liters of a substance believed to be ethanol.

The arrested individuals are Isack Ochieng, the driver, and Hedmond Ochieng, who were allegedly using a Nissan Note vehicle to transport the suspected ethanol.

The National Police Service issued a statement on Thursday, revealing that the apprehension took place on Wednesday.

Detectives acted on a tip-off from the public leading to the arrest of the suspects.

According to the National Police Service statement, “On 27/12/2023 at about 1300hrs NPS Officers from Elementaita Police Station impounded a motor vehicle reg. No.KDM 563R Nissan Note and recovered 575 liters of suspected Ethanol.”

To aid in further investigations, the impounded vehicle has also been taken into custody.

The two individuals, Isack Ochieng and Hedmond Ochieng, are scheduled to appear in Nakuru CMS Court on December 28, 2023.
