Man Lynched For Chicken Theft In Machakos


In Matuu, Machakos County, a disturbing incident unfolded last Friday when an alleged chicken thief faced a tragic end at the hands of an angry mob.

The suspect, recently released from custody after serving time for a prior offense, was accused of pilfering two hens, cunningly concealing them in a sack. Intent on selling his ill-gotten gains in Matuu town, he never made it far.

Locals quickly apprehended the suspect as he traversed the area with his stolen loot.

In a bid to extract information about the theft’s location, the infuriated crowd resorted to mob justice, leading to the suspect’s untimely death.

Following the tragic episode, the deceased’s body was transferred to the Matuu Level IV Hospital morgue, where it awaits further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This unsettling incident sheds light on the dangers individuals may face when caught engaging in unlawful activities, emphasizing the importance of legal recourse over vigilantism.
