The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced the shortlist of candidates for the roles of Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS) and Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service (DIG-APS).
Peter Leley, the NPSC Chief Executive Officer, revealed the shortlisted candidates for the DIG-KPS position: George Adero Sedah, Eliud Kipkoech Lagat, Tom Mboya Odero, and Dr. Vincent Kinas Makokha.
Simultaneously, the Commission has shortlisted Gilbert Masengeli, Margaret Nyambura Karanja, James Mukuha Kamau, and Dr. Masoud Mwinyi for the DIG-APS position.
The interviews for these candidates are scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024, starting at 9:30 am.
The candidates for the DIG-KPS post will be interviewed first, from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm.
Those shortlisted for the DIG-APS role will face the panel from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm.
All interviews will be held at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete Campus in Nairobi.
A total of 38 individuals responded to the Commission’s advertisement for the Deputy Inspector General positions.
Of these, 21 applied for the DIG-KPS role, while 13 applied for the DIG-APS role.
Four applicants did not specify the position they were interested in: Paul Omondi Okinyi, Brian Wekesa Wanyonyi, Abdirashid Bilali, and Nicholas Mwiti.
The public is encouraged to submit any relevant information about the candidates to the Commission’s chairperson through written memoranda or online submissions by Monday next week.
