Police Shoot Dead Man Armed With Bow and Arrows In Nakuru


In Keringet, Kuresoi, Nakuru County, a man was fatally shot after allegedly trying to attack police officers with a bow and arrows.

On October 10, law enforcement arrived at his home to apprehend him in connection with a grievous harm case.

Upon opening the door, the man came out armed with a bow and several arrows.

Witnesses reported that he fired five arrows at the officers, narrowly missing them.

In reaction, one officer discharged 12 shots as a warning.

However, the man ignored commands to stop and surrender, resulting in a gunshot wound to his stomach that caused his immediate death.

His body has since been transported to Olenguruone Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.

In another incident in Mangoloma Village, Mwingi, Kitui County, a ten-year-old boy was tragically killed during a confrontation with his cousin.

Witness accounts indicate that the boy was struck on the back of the head with a blunt object.

The 18-year-old cousin was later attacked by a mob and stoned before police intervened and rescued him.

Authorities are investigating this incident as a murder, and the boy’s body has been moved to Mwingi Level Four Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

Additionally, police in Kisii are investigating two separate murder cases.

In Kenyerere village, the body of 35-year-old Joseph Nyamwaya Muhache was discovered on a pathway with no visible injuries.

His remains have been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary pending a postmortem.

In Bonchura village, 30-year-old Peter Momanyi was found dead beside the road with a severe cut on the back of his neck and his hands bound with a nylon rope.

His body has also been sent to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for examination, and no arrests have been made in either case.

In Chepalungu, Bomet County, a 70-year-old man passed away after complaining of severe chest pain.
