Gachagua Issues 7-Day Ultimatum On Fuel Prices

DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has given President William Ruto seven days to lower fuel prices or face nationwide protests.

Speaking at a rally in Dagoretti on April 18, 2026, Gachagua accused the President of breaking campaign promises and worsening the cost of living by increasing petrol prices.

He warned that failure to reduce prices by KSh 30 would lead to countrywide demonstrations.

He also criticised the government’s handling of healthcare, claiming public hospitals lack basic supplies and forcing leaders to hold frequent fundraisers.

In addition, he dismissed remarks attributed to the President about boda boda operators as out of touch.

Gachagua announced a political campaign dubbed “Operation Fagia,” aimed at removing leaders allied to the President.

DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala supported the call, also criticising the President’s leadership.
