Ruku Makes Surprise Visit To Huduma Centres In Nairobi

In his signature hands-on style, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku, on Friday paid unannounced visits to the GPO and Eastleigh Huduma Centres in Nairobi.

The impromptu inspections are part of his continued effort to assess service delivery firsthand and remain engaged with the realities facing frontline workers.

During the visits, Ruku lauded the staff for their professionalism, resilience, and innovation in delivering essential services despite operating with limited resources.

He praised their commitment as a model of effective and citizen-focused public service.

“I am impressed by the level of professionalism and output I have witnessed here today.

It is encouraging to see public servants doing more with less, showing that they are committed to serving Kenyans,” CS Ruku stated during a media briefing at the Eastleigh Huduma Centre.

While recognizing their dedication, the CS used the opportunity to call on the Public Service Commission (PSC) to uphold integrity and meritocracy in public sector recruitment and promotion processes.

He cautioned against favoritism, nepotism, and other non-transparent practices that hinder efficiency and morale in the public service.
