
A licensed gun holder was Wednesday night arrested in a confrontation with police at a bar in Embakasi, Nairobi.
The man was carrying a Glock pistol loaded with 16 bullets.
Police were closing down liquor joints and arresting revelers for contravening the licensing act when the drama happened.
According to police, the man became violent and threatened to shoot at them before he was overpowered and disarmed.
The man who works in Nyahururu and two other revelers were arrested at the joint.
Police have in the past three days been targeting liquor joints saying they are dens of crime.
The team has closed down dozens and warned operators their licenses will be canceled if they do not follow the law.
The operators are protesting the police moves terming them extortion and frustrating.
