At least two passengers were killed in a crash between a passenger bus and a lorry near Mai Mahiu Town, Nakuru County.
Police said several passengers were injured after the lorry hit Ena bus headed from Nairobi to Kehancha in Migori County on Saturday night.
The bus also hit other cars ahead of it before it landed in a ditch.
The bus management said it departed Nairobi at approximately 8 pm, carrying 47 passengers and 3 crew members, all setting out on their journey without incident.
While descending the Mai Mahiu Escarpment, near the historical Catholic church, a truck lost its brakes and struck two vehicles before hitting the bus from the rear.
“The force of the collision caused our bus to veer off the road and overturn.

It is with profound sorrow that we report the loss of two passengers, a female adult and a minor.”
“Several others sustained injuries.
Rescue teams from St. Johns Ambulance…
We are grateful to report that most of those admitted have since been treated, cleared, and discharged,” a statement from the bus company said on Sunday.
The police cleared the scene later on announcing they are investigating it.
This increased to more than ten, the number of those killed in road accidents on Saturday alone.
At least eight other passengers had been killed along the Namanga-Kitengela highway near Isinya involving a matatu and a lorry.
Police said five passengers were rushed to hospitals with serious injuries.
