Uber Celebrates 10 Years In Kenya With Earner Appreciation Event, New Partnerships

Uber announced a special Earner Appreciation Event as part of its 10-year anniversary celebrations in Kenya, recognising and celebrating the drivers who power the platform and move the country forward.

The event, themed around empowerment and community, brought together top-rated

earners for the Uber Kenya Empowerment Awards, which honoured individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and dedication.

Honourees included longest-serving drivers, community champions, and highest-rated drivers.

Stories of resilience and innovation from these earners reflected the platform’s impact in Kenya as more than just an app, but as a partner in creating livelihoods and opportunities.

“Our commitment to Kenya is about more than just mobility and delivery; it’s about building a partnership for shared prosperity, ” said Imran Manji, General Manager for Uber East Africa.

“Today, we are proud to honour the hard work of our earners.

Their success is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit that fuels Kenya’s economic growth.”

New Initiatives to Support Earners As part of its commitment to supporting earners, Uber unveiled a series of new initiatives designed to make a tangible difference in the daily lives of drivers and couriers.

Through a new partnership with TotalEnergies, drivers will benefit from discounted fuel, helping to ease one of their largest everyday costs and boosting their overall earnings.
