Standard Chartered Bank Kenya has rolled out an updated tariff guide for individual customers, spelling out new fees across routine banking services, including mobile money transfers, card usage, cheque services and salary processing. The revised charges come into force in December 2025.
Transfers from Standard Chartered accounts to mobile wallets such as M-PESA, Airtel Money and T-Kash will now attract tiered fees based on value. Amounts between KSh 0 and KSh 100 remain free. Transfers of KSh 101–500 cost KSh 11, rising to KSh 15 for KSh 501–1,000 and KSh 18 for KSh 1,001–1,500. Fees increase progressively, reaching KSh 70 for transfers ranging from KSh 20,001 to KSh 250,000.
Credit card holders will pay annual fees depending on their card type. The Gold card is charged KSh 6,000 per year, Platinum KSh 7,000, and Infinite KSh 8,000. Additional charges include KSh 1,500 for late payments, KSh 2,000 for exceeding limits, KSh 1,000 for supplementary or replacement cards, and cash advances at five per cent of the withdrawn amount. International card transactions attract a three per cent fee.
Customers on the Easy Banking Bundle Current Account will pay a monthly service fee of KSh 499, with an account opening balance of KSh 2,000 and no minimum operating balance thereafter. The bundle combines a salary account and a credit card, offering benefits such as free local and foreign transfers, complimentary ATM withdrawals at all VISA ATMs in Kenya, selected free cheques, e-statements and a cheque book.

Cheque services also attract revised fees. A 30-leaf cheque book costs KSh 450, while a 100-leaf book costs KSh 900. Returned cheques, stop payment requests, counter cheques and retrieval of old cheques all come with specific charges, depending on the nature of the request or error.
Debit card issuance and replacement will cost KSh 500, though renewals remain free. ATM withdrawals at Standard Chartered machines will cost KSh 40 per transaction, rising sharply to KSh 250 at non-StanChart ATMs. International ATM withdrawals will attract a KSh 95 fee.
Accessing balances and statements via ATMs or the call centre remains free, as does account closure. However, duplicate paper statements will cost KSh 250, while posted statements attract a KSh 50 fee per copy. Electronic salary processing is charged at KSh 150, with manual processing costing KSh 500.
The bank noted that other charges covering areas such as account maintenance, cash handling, loans, overdrafts, foreign exchange and international transfers vary depending on account type, transaction channel and currency involved.
