The move follows a dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed by Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat from 6 PM to 6 AM to curb further unrest. Recent clashes between the Masai and Kipsigis communities have left multiple fatalities and widespread destruction.
The Kenya Red Cross reports over 1,800 people displaced and 253 households destroyed, forcing families, including children, women, and persons with disabilities, to seek shelter in schools, dispensaries, and open spaces, with some sleeping under trees.
