Police in Narok Sub-county launched a manhunt for a suspect who fatally stabbed a 26-year-old man following a confrontation during a late-night motorcycle ride.
According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 22, 2026, at Olepolos area.
The deceased, identified as Likan Lemein, had reportedly offered a lift to three people he knew from Ololulunga Trading Centre to Oleshapani.
The group was travelling together on a motorcycle when one of the passengers slipped off the seat near Olepolos, prompting them to stop.
A confrontation then broke out between the deceased and one of the passengers. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly stabbed Lemein multiple times on the chest, arm, and back using a sword, leaving him with fatal injuries.
The victim bled profusely and died at the scene.
The incident was reported to Ololulunga Police Station, and officers who visited the scene found the suspect had already fled.
The body was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations continue.
And train operations along the Gilgil–Naivasha railway line were briefly disrupted after a locomotive struck a herd of cattle crossing a railway bridge.
According to police, the incident occurred on April 22, 2026, at around 12:42 p.m between Gilgil and Naivasha.
The train hit four cattle that were crossing the railway bridge. Three of the animals died on the spot, while one survived with injuries.
The train was forced to halt operations for about 38 minutes as the situation was handled.
Police responded to the scene and necessary procedures were carried out before the train resumed its journey.
The owner of the cattle had not been identified by the time of the report.
