Police are investigating a swift armed robbery at a restaurant along Mbaazi Road in Nairobi.
According to the police, the incident occurred on April 25, 2026, at around 10:19 p.m. when three suspects posing as pillion passengers alighted from a motorcycle and stormed into a local eatery identified as Ghost Restaurant, where several customers were dining.
In a robbery that lasted less than 30 seconds—captured on CCTV—the attackers snatched four mobile phones (three Samsung models and one iPhone 15 Pro Max), a Lenovo tablet, and cash amounting to Sh13,912 from the counter.
As customers attempted to pursue them, the suspects fired a single round in the air to scare them off before fleeing on a waiting motorcycle.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Police have launched investigations and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and track down the suspects.
Elsewhere, police in Kiambu County have launched investigations into a violent night attack at a popular events venue in Thindigua.
According to the police, the incident occurred on the evening of April 25, 2026, at Paradise Gardens in Kasarini area, within Kiambu East Sub-County.
A group of about 100 individuals armed with pangas reportedly stormed the premises at around 7:45 p.m., where several guests had gathered for different events.
The attackers are said to have harassed attendees and robbed them of at least 12 mobile phones and accessories, as well as cash amounting to Sh9,000 and other personal items.
During the chaos, one victim was assaulted. Police also indicated that a female victim is alleged to have been sexually assaulted.
Two vehicles—a white Honda Vezel and a Suzuki Solio—were vandalized and ransacked during the incident. The cars have since been towed to Kiambu Police Station as part of the ongoing investigations.
Police officers who responded to the scene found that guests had already fled, while security guards from a private firm on duty confirmed the attack.
Authorities say efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
A team of detectives visited the scene as part of the probe into the attack.
