One-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Shallow Water Dam In Nyandarua

A one-and-a-half-year-old boy died after drowning in a shallow water dam near his family’s home in Gathiriga Village, Kipipiri Sub-County, Nyandarua County.

The child is reported to have wandered from home while trying to look for his mother before falling into the nearby dam on Saturday.

The child’s body was found with no visible physical injuries, consistent with a suspected drowning.

The body was moved to Engineer County Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to confirm the cause of death.

Police have documented the incident, and investigations are continuing, although no foul play is suspected at this stage.

And a man narrowly escaped death after a group of about six men allegedly stormed his house in Nairobi’s Pipeline area, stabbed him and attempted to set his house ablaze in what police believe was a revenge attack.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Sunday opposite Trace Sahara Lounge within the Kware area of Embakasi.

The victim sustained a stab wound to his left wrist after the attackers forced their way into his house.

Police said the assailants poured petrol on the door and attempted to ignite it, but the plan failed.

During the confrontation, the victim armed himself with a panga and fought back, managing to repel the attackers.

Investigators said a human finger, believed to have been severed from one of the suspects during the struggle, was recovered at the scene.

The finger was preserved at Nairobi Funeral Home for forensic examination.

The victim told investigators he believes the attack was an act of revenge linked to an incident about three weeks ago when he allegedly confronted and fought with a man he had caught stealing clothes from a hanging line.

Police have launched investigations to identify and arrest the attackers.

No arrests had been made by the time of the report.
