A Fourth year United States International University (USIU) student died by suicide at her apartment in Thome estate, Kasarani on Saturday night.Police have launched investigations into the death adding that the deceased left behind a suicide note.“The body was transferred to the mortuary and the Tanzanian Embassy informed. Investigations have also been launched to establish what transpired,” police said.The body of Violet Bijura was found hanging from the door frame of her bedroom on a white bedsheet around her neck.Family members told the police that the deceased was suffering from depression. A 40 year old woman and her son were killed in a fire incident in Mukuru slums Nairobi.Phires Mokeira and her seven year old boy were at the weekend killed when a fire swept through structures in the slum leaving at least five families homeless.The two were in their house when the fire suspected to have been caused by a cooking gas cylinder broke out.Police said the locals in Vietnam area struggled to contain the spread of the fire before they discovered the remains of the two.The bodies were removed to the mortuary pending further investigation.Those whose structures were flattened…

A total of 4,103 people have been killed in road accidents as at November 17, surpassing the 3,947 fatalities recorded last year, 2021. National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), said 18,474 people were involved in road accidents that left 8,371 people seriously injured and another 6,000 people with slight injuries. 1,486 pedestrians, 1,085 pedal cyclists, 721 passengers, 378 drivers, 377 pillion passengers and 56 pedal cyclists were among the people killed.
