Rukiya Khatib, the spouse of Changamwe Member of Parliament Omar Mwinyi, has sadly passed away.
Reportedly, Rukiya fell seriously ill on Monday night and was promptly admitted to Pandya Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts, she succumbed to her illness.
Her remains have been transported to her residence in Portreitz, where preparations for her final resting place are underway today.

Ibrahim Kilai, the MP’s assistant, revealed that Rukiya will be laid to rest in the Mwingo area following the 1.00 pm prayer.
Various leaders have expressed their condolences over Rukiya’s demise.
The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) conveyed their sympathies to Mwinyi in a condolence message, saying, “We commiserate with you and your family at this very difficult moment of grief and pray to Allah SWT to grant you peace during these trying times.”
