Charcoal Trader’s Dismembered Body Uncovered In Shallow Grave

A family in Kagio town, Kirinyaga County, is reeling in shock after the gruesome discovery of the body parts of 24-year-old Morris Murimi, who went missing a month ago.

The dismembered body was found in a shallow grave in Kiamugungo Forest, Ndia constituency.

According to Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei, Murimi was reported missing on August 7, 2024, by his family.

The police had been searching for him with the family, but unfortunately, his body was found cut into pieces and buried in a shallow grave.

The discovery was made after villagers reported a dog carrying a human leg, which led the police to the location of the body parts.

Murimi’s family recounted their last interaction with him.

His mother, Grace Wangari, revealed that Murimi, a charcoal trader, had been called by a customer to collect charcoal at Kiamugungo village before his disappearance.

His father, Edward Waweru, expressed shock and anger, saying, “I can’t believe the person who contacted my son could rob him of his motorcycle and then brutally kill him.”

Leah Wambui, the deceased’s wife, identified her husband’s remains by the clothes he had been wearing.

The remains have been taken to Kerugoya Mortuary for postmortem and DNA analysis as investigations continue.

The family is demanding justice for Murimi, with his mother saying, “We want justice for my son, and we hope the suspects will be arrested and prosecuted soon.”
