Two suspected thugs arrived on a motorcycle and started to rob those present.
They then reached Chahonyi prompting the struggle before he was stabbed in the chest and stomach.
He was rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He had lost too much blood.
Police advise victims of such robberies to always cooperate with the attackers.
A special team of detectives is following up leads on the whereabouts of the gang amid reports they are notorious in the area.
