The Director DCI Mohamed Amin congratulated both serving and retired detectives who have served the country with honor and pride and called upon others to follow suit.
While acknowledging individual officers whose contributions to the Directorate left an indelible mark in the lives of Kenyans, Amin lauded their ingenuity and adherence to the demands of the constitution, pointing out that there was no room for a contrary practice.
“I acknowledge with profound admiration the individual efforts of every honest, virtuous and incorruptible officer serving in the Directorate, and give you the assurance of my full support.”
“You bear the badge of honor and respect and possess immense powers in your duty to deliver justice to Kenyans. These powers must not be misused,” he said.
Amin made these remarks at the Carnivore grounds Saturday, February 4 evening, during the DCI 2023 New Year’s party, which was uniquely held at the beginning of the year as a symbol of unity of purpose and a shared vision for the Directorate.
The colorful event which brought together over 1,500 DCI officers from across the country also saw various officers both serving and retired rewarded for their dedicated service.
While congratulating the DCI for the milestones it has realized in the recent past, the Chief Guest at the event, Eliud Kinuthia who is the Chairman of the National Police Service Commission, said that the Directorate’s contribution to policing remained pragmatic and expressed optimism that the institution would remain in a trajectory of professionalism.
Other guests who graced the event included the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji, NPSC Commissioner John Ole Moyaki, Davis Lumwatu, representing the DIG Administration Police Service among other stakeholders, and partners.
