A retired teacher’s body was discovered in a forested area in Kericho County, sparking a police investigation.
“The retired teacher, who had been missing since last Sunday, was found in Chemoset village in Seretut, Belgut Sub County,” said an anonymous official from the local administration.
Authorities suspect the former educator died by suicide, as they found the body with a rope around the neck, indicating a hanging from a tree.

“The body of the teacher had a rope around his neck. He is believed to have fallen from a tree which he had hung himself on,” police confirmed.
The deceased had been reported missing by family members, leading to a search operation that tragically ended with the discovery of the decomposing body in the thicket.
Responding officers from Sosiot police station promptly transported the body to Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.
