Abdi Mohamed is grappling with an unimaginable loss after his wife, daughter, and 12 year-year-old niece were brutally murdered in Eastleigh.
speaking out on Monday, November 4, Mohamed shared the profound heartbreak he is enduring as he tries to come to terms with the deaths of his loved ones.
Overcome with grief, Mohammed recounted his final conversation with his wife, WARIS Dahabo Daud Said, on the tragedy.
He explained that their last exchange was a Whastapp voice message, during which she informed him that she was going to see a dernatologist for skin issue.
” It was arround 7:00 pm when disappeared.
She sent me a voice message saying she was going for a consoltation,” he recalled.
Regarding his daughter, Amin Abdirashid Dahir, Mohammed said they had not communicated for a few days prior to the tragedy, making it difficult for him to recall their last conversation.
“I haven’t spoken to her for a few days, so i can’t remember our last talk,” he added.
The pain of losing three members of his family Waris Dahabo Daud said (38), Amina Abdirashid Dahir (22), and Nusayba Abdi Mohammed (12) is overwhelming. Mohammed is calling for justice, stating,
“This is very devastating. That was my wife and my firstborn daughter. It’s incredibly hard.
I’m emotional right now, but may Allah grant us peace. We hope for justice.”
He expressed deep gratitude for the law enforcement officers and family members who assisted in the investigation, leading to the capture of the main suspect.
“I want to thank the family member who helped us apprehend this killer, as well as the detectives who worked tirelessly around the clock to bring him in.
This is still an ongoing investigation, and we ask that everyone prays for the victims. May Allah make it easier for them,” Mohammed said.
The three women went missing on October 21, 2024, and their bodies, showing signs of brutal violence and stab wounds, were found the following day, October 22, at different locations around 6:00 AM.
On Sunday, November 3, police arrested a man in connection with the horrific murders.
The suspect, identified as Hashim Dagane Muhumed, was detained in Eastleigh, Nairobi, after investigators revealed that he had fraudulently obtained a Kenyan ID.
Muhumed, a former regional police officer in Ethiopia, had previously been jailed for the alleged murder of his wife.
After fleeing to Kenya, he started a taxi business in Eastleigh and Parklands. Police believe he was acquainted with the victims and had been involved in an extortion ring in the city.
“After a thorough investigation, detectives were able to arrest Hashim Dagane Muhumed in connection with the murders of the three women.
This heinous crime led to an intensive manhunt, and Muhumed is now in police custody.
He is set to be arraigned tomorrow at the Makadara Chief Magistrate’s Court,” the police statement read.
The arrest brings a sense of closure to the case, but the search for further answers continues as authorities probe the circumstances surrounding the murders.
